The Aqua-Scope leakage protection 'Plus' for ball valves monitors the water pipes of a building, regularly reports the water consumption in the house, shuts off the water in case of leaks and informs the residents via radio.
The system consists of two components. The Aqua-Scope Monitor uses an acoustic water sensor to continuously monitor the entire water supply network from a single location in the house. The water sensor, attached to the monitor housing, is mounted on the main water line at an easily accessible point using a T-fitting. Two additional flood sensors are positioned at key locations in the house and immediately report any leaks wirelessly. The actuator is mounted on an existing ball valve without interrupting the water supply and shuts off the water immediately upon detecting a leak, thus preventing further damage. Regular pipe checks detect even micro-leaks with a water loss as low as 4 ml/h. The water supply can also be conveniently turned on and off manually by the user via voice command or regularly – for example, on weekends – using programmable timers.
The system is controlled via a mobile app. Additionally, data can be sent to an MQTT server or an HTTP webhook for integration into a smart home system. Communication between devices uses robust LoRa radio technology, allowing them to be installed on different floors, in the basement, or even outside the house.
