The Aqua-Scope 'Basic' leakage protection system for ball valves monitors the water pipes of a building, shuts off the water in case of leaks and informs the residents via radio.
The system consists of two components. The Aqua-Scope monitor uses an acoustic water sensor to continuously monitor the entire water supply network from a single location in the house. The water sensor, attached to the monitor housing, is mounted on the main water line at an easily accessible point using a T-fitting. The actuator is mounted on an existing ball valve without interrupting the water supply and immediately shuts off the water upon detecting a leak, thus preventing further damage. Regular pipe checks detect even micro-leaks with a water loss as low as 4 ml/h. The water can also be conveniently turned on and off by the user via voice command or regularly – for example, on weekends – using programmable timers.
The system is controlled via a mobile app. Additionally, data can be sent to an MQTT server or an HTTP webhook for integration into a smart home system. Communication between devices uses robust LoRa radio technology, allowing them to be installed on different floors, in the basement, or even outside the house.
